This course aims to provide students with the necessary knowledge and understanding of the modern activities concerning the management of people, and to demonstrate the importance of both the leadership and influence processes. More specifically, the course aims to apply the different methods and emerging trends to the human resource functions such as recruitment, selection, compensation, development and performance appraisal. In addition, it aims to both analyse and apply the various approaches to leadership (generic, situational, emerging) and to illustrate the meaning of leadership by exploring its relationship to management and power.
