General business activities can be one of two types: on-going operations where management emphasis is on repetition and projects (internal and external) where management emphasis is on change (direction, innovation, flexibility, teamwork). The focus of this course is on managing projects which is becoming a highly complex task in todays’ world. The course aims to provide students with an overview of the key concepts and analytical skills underpinning the effective management of projects in any industry sector. Students will be introduced to the basic theoretical framework for developing an understanding of the key roles and responsibilities associated with the development and management of any major project. An introduction to the basic project planning methodology will be also given.
